The Prize has generated a lot of interest. The jury received 60 nominations, including 30 for paintings. It was an open nomination process. Anyone can participate as a nominator for any type of art as long as it was executed or exhibited in Lebanon. Most of the nominations came either from the artists themselves or from the galleries that represent them.
